“Rafiath Rashid Mithila wrote her second adventure book for kids – Afrikay Singher Khoje.

Goofi ‘Africay Singher Khoje’ is a storybook of adventure. Aira and her mother, Mithila traveled together to Africa to see an African lion called Shimba. This adventure story will help children to know about the animals of Africa and a journey full of adventure.

Renown popular actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila published her second adventure storybook titled ‘Africay Singher Khoje’ at the Shishu Chattar at Ekushey Book Fair on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Rafiath Rashid Mithila has been working as the head of Early Child Development Programme at BRAC International. As a part of her job, she has to travel to different countries across the world and to spend a lot of time with children.

Her daughter Ayra has been her travel companion for years. Rafiath Rashid Mithila’s books take inspiration from the travelling exploits of the mother-daughter duo. Mithila wanted to capture these experiences in her popular children book series called ‘Ayra aar Maaer Obhijaan’.

The first book titled ‘Tanzaniyar Dipe’ was about travelling to an island and overcome your fear. The book series showcased the strong bond between the mother and the daughter.

Regarding her second book the actress said, ‘When we travelled to Africa’s different countries, Ayra and I were very curious to find Lions and we have fun stories to share related to that. The story shares not only our adventures but also the bonding experiences I shared with my daughter’.

Rafiath Rashid Mithila said, “This book will really help children. We have shared our mother- daughter stories with other parents through this book. This adventure book also consists of great illustrations which will surely attract the young readers.”

The main protagonists of the story are Mithila and her daughter Ayra. The characters have been drawn resembling their appearance. The hardcover consists of 36 pages which are fully colourful.

She further added, ‘I wrote this book not only to keep the beautiful memories I shared with 315my daughter alive but also because there is a lack of quality children’s books in Bangla. Specifically for the children in the 3-8 years age group. That’s why I wanted to write a quality Bangla book both for the children and their parents’.
The book is published by ‘Goofi Books‘, children book publication arm of Light of Hope Ltd. The illustrations were done by another BRAC employee, Mohimenul Rakib. Waliullah Bhuiyan is the Book Director and Publisher of the Book.

Rafiath Rashid Mithila plans to write three more books in this series.
