গল্পের কথক মোঃ মোখলেছুর রহমান ভূঁইয়ার পৈতৃক নিবাস বর্তমান কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলার পাকুন্দিয়া উপজেলার পাটুয়াভাঙ্গা গ্রামের ভূঁইয়াবাড়ি। প্রথম জীবন তিনি তাঁর পিতার সান্নিধ্যে কৃষিকাজ, মৌসুমে ব্যবসায় ব্যয় করেছেন। যৌবনে ব্রিটিশ ভারতের আসাম, বার্মাসহ গ্রামবাংলার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় ঘুরে বেড়িয়েছেন। পরবর্তীতে (১৯৭২) সরকারী কর্মচারি হিসাবে ময়মনসিংহ শহরে কাটিয়েছেন।
অবসরকালে আবার পৈতৃক নিবাসে ফিরে আসেন। হাতে তখন অফুরন্ত সময়। তখন বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে শুনে আসা কেচ্ছা-কাহিনি, ভ্রমণ অভিজ্ঞতা নাতি নাতনিদের শুনাতেন। স্কুল ছুটির দিন অথবা চাঁদনী রাতে ছেলে মেয়েরা তাকে ঘিরে ধরতাে গল্প শােনানাের জন্য। উঠানে মাদুর পেতে বসে যেত সবাই।
এমনকি বড়রাও কাজ শেষে ভিড় জমাতাে ছােটদের সাথে। দাদা তাঁর আরাম কেদারায় বসে খুলে দিতেন গল্পের ঝুলি। দাদার এসব গল্পগুলাে বইয়ে ছাপানাে কোন কল্পকাহিনি নয়, এগুলাে লােকের মুখে মুখে যুগ যুগ ধরে চলে আসা গ্রামবাংলার লােকসাহিত্যও বটে। বর্তমান গল্পগ্রন্থে দাদার সবগুলাে গল্প সংকলন করা সম্ভব হয়নি। আশা করি পরবর্তীতে আরও কিছু গল্প সংকলন করা হবে।
দাদা ইহলােক ত্যাগ করেছেন ১৫ই ফেব্রুয়ারি, ২০১৬। আমরা দাদার আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি।

গুফি থেকে আমাদের লক্ষ্য হচ্ছে এমন ধরণের বই তৈরি করা, যেরকম বই আগে কেউ কখনও দেখেনি বা করেনি। এমন ইস্যু, দক্ষতা বা থিম নিয়ে বইয়ের কাজ করা যেগুলো শিশুদের শেখানো খুব গুরুত্বপুর্ণ, কিন্তু কোন লেখক বা প্রকাশক সেগুলো নিয়ে কাজ করেনি।
